Privacy
Last updated: June 29, 2026 · A plain-language summary of how ThankLoop treats your data.
ThankLoop helps you discover and claim appreciation offers from local businesses. Privacy isn’t a setting here — it’s how the product is built. There are no public check-ins, no location history, and no leaderboards. This page explains what we collect, how we use it, and the guarantees that are enforced in code.
What we collect
- Account details — your email and name, handled by our authentication provider when you sign in.
- Approximate location— used in the moment to show offers near you. We do not keep a history of where you’ve been.
- Your activity on ThankLoop — offers you claim, save, or follow; redemptions; and any optional feedback or spend estimate you choose to share.
- Optional group verification— if you choose to verify membership in an affinity group, only the result is used, never the underlying documents beyond what’s needed to review it. Anything you share for verification — name, service/organization, rank, badge or ID number, a credential photo — is deleted after review; only the decision (and which path verified it) stays on file.
What we never do
- We never publish your check-ins, visits, or a location history — there is no public activity feed.
- We never sell your personal information.
- Counter staff redeeming your offer see only a code, an instruction, and a countdown — never your name, profession, verification status, or the reason you qualified.
- Businesses see only anonymized, grouped aggregates that meet a minimum-cohort threshold — never you as an individual, and never in a way that can be traced back to you.
How we use your information
- To show offers that are relevant and available near you right now.
- To let you claim offers and redeem them at the counter.
- To send transactional email you’d expect, like a claim or redemption confirmation.
- To keep the service safe and working (preventing abuse, fixing errors).
Privacy by design
Two protections are built into the data model itself. Analytics are keyed to a one-way pseudonym that is different for every business, so no merchant — or anyone reading merchant data — can correlate your activity across places. And merchant-facing numbers are only ever shown once a cohort is large enough to keep any individual unidentifiable.
Cookies
ThankLoop sets only functional cookies: the sign-in session (managed by our authentication provider) and a single preference cookie (flow_pref) that remembers your feed pacing choice for up to a year. We don’t use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies, and there’s no third-party analytics on ThankLoop.
Who we share it with
We use a small set of trusted providers to run ThankLoop: authentication, database hosting, transactional email, and application hosting. They process data only to provide their service to us, under their own data protections. We don’t share your personal information with advertisers or data brokers.
Your choices
You can access, correct, or delete your account data — email us at thankloop@ooboogoo.comand we’ll help. You can leave a Fan Club, unsave offers, or close your account at any time.
Retention
We keep your information for as long as your account is active and as needed to operate the service. When you close your account we delete or anonymize your personal data, except where we’re required to keep limited records.
Children
ThankLoop isn’t directed to children, and isn’t intended for anyone under 16.
Changes
If we make material changes we’ll update this page and the date above. Questions? Reach us at thankloop@ooboogoo.com.
